I am a writer, a mother, a runner, a cook (recreationally). I live by the sea in the south east of England. I am on a constant journey to simplify, organise, and streamline life for me and my family, and I like to write about those efforts. I am also mother to two young girls, 'A' aged nearly 5, and 'I' aged 18 months. They are on a constant mission to create havoc and they laugh in the face of my attempts to carve out order. I like to write about this too. I had my first daughter just three months before the world went into lockdown, I think many people, particularly those who became parents in 2019-2021 are still suffering the mental health ramifications of that time, and I write on that as well. Along the way, I have managed to get a PhD in linguistics, my areas of interest are broad, but my expertise is in descriptive grammar, linguistic typology, and pidgin/creole languages, sometimes I also write about these. Thank you for being curious enough to read this!
