I did quit, and I sometimes wish I'd taken your path. Nearly 10 years after my final cold turkey ditching of the fags, I still pine for that 10 minutes to myself, stepping outside and doing something for me (I mean, not really in my best interests but you know what I mean). I did have kids in the intervening years so it's probably for the best that I didn't switch to vapes, but every now and then I fantasise that I'm going to wait until I hit 70 and then go back to my old friend addiction. Although by then it will probably require a mortgage to buy nicotine products.
